Hi @Buster_In_Yorks

Not sure what you mean can't switch back to WiFi from using ethernet. I've switched between the two with no issues. Try a reset of your network settings if not already done so: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-glass-no-wifi-connection-osm

One thing to try if your router will allow it, set your DNS to fast (1.1.1.1) and Google (8.8.8.8). This helpped me with some issues I was experiencing with BT. Also might be worth posting the make and model of router.

Have you spoke to your ISP as well as Sky? Have they confirmed DHCP is working correctly, the IP range is a valid UK block etc? Also as a test, could you connect your stream to a mobile hotspot and see what happens?

If your puck is dead, Sky will replace it under warranty as they are loaned to you, unless you ordered before February 2023.

MikeAlanR

I've had months of issues with Sky Stream and BRSK, constant dropouts, "loading...." / "technical issue" messages, spent 45mins on the phone with Sky this evening and found:

60+ disconnects in the last week

Once you set a Sky Stream Puck to use ethernet connection it will not connect to WiFi again - now got a dead puck....

Sky Stream doesnt work with BRSK using ethernet - gets "connected" but "no internet" messages

Anyone using BRSK with Sky Stream and working OK?

Anyone using BRSK with Sky Stream via ethernet and working OK?

Can't switch back and forwards on the puck we were testing without full powering down, resetting, and then network just doesnt work - now just get both Wi-Fi and Ethernet give the same "connected to router" & "not connected to internet" messages - puck is now a doorstop

Puck gets an IP address, just cant get any internet access since we tried using a cable and powering down etc. doesnt change this

ISP is BRSK, their routers appear to have the Wi-Fi giving a very weak signal so they can upsell their "Better Wi-Fi" mesh system, did loads of testing with my Mesh setup but the connection router -> ONT -> outside world is constantly dropping and its extremely difficult to get them interested

Router is a Technicolor DGA0122, ASN is AS51809 BRSK Limited, a UK ASN

Problem we have is that there is no real choice of ISP and we cant get Sky Broadband as that was my first choice - we can have Virgin or BRSK and we just cancelled Virgin after 24 years due to their pricing

Will be talking to Sky in the morning about the non-working puck - must admit Sky support was really good and knew their stuff

Fix is: turn power off to puck, leave for a good while, I left it for a hour or so as I was busy

Strangley it then connects back to Wi-Fi when rebooted without needing any prompting or the password

Brsk network engineer told me this morning that they have seen speed issues when using Sky Stream with Brsk - which seems odd that a Wi-Fi connected device can cause a entire local network to slow down

Hi, switched to BRSK and on demand multiple issues saying no connection to internet. Multiple drop outs from Sky. Getting 500Mb then as low as 25mb in same place. Definitely an issue with compatibility.......any help would be appreciated.

BRSK eventual reply to me was just that they dont support other vendors kit, this was after they spent a bit of time looking at the issue

Try:

Split your WiFi on the BRSK router

Connect to the 5ghz band for speed and the 2.4ghz band for coverage/distance

Or better still:

Replace BRSK router with a tp-link AX3000 router and add a tp-link Mesh WiFi range extender - we went this route and it both massively increased WiFi coverage and speed and did away with the constant drop outs and buffering on Sky Stream

BRSK do not support the Sky Stream hard wired - it just doesnt work and they appear to have no interest in helping customers sort this out
