Hello,

What on earth is wrong with the Apple TV app on this puck, sound and picture juddering all over the place. Luckily Iwas able to revert to my trusty Roku.

Hi @CinderKona,

Have you tried to reboot your Stream and or refreshed your Apps?

To reboot Switch off your Glass or Stream puck at the plug socket and wait for a minute before switching it on again. It will take about a minute to reboot.

To refresh the apps go to Settings > System Management > Resets & Updates > refresh apps. The refresh can take a while but is done in the background so you can still use your Stream.

Many thanks for the suggestion and I tried it just now but it's still cutting out.

Just the Apple TV app. My speed is 140.

Please try this

Go to

Settings > picture and Sound > Sound > change output from Auto/DD+/DD /Passthrough to PCM Stereo. This will cause the Sky puck itself to do the downmixing and you should get stereo sound, including dialogue, from your puck

I found this, it should hopefully fix the judder on the Apple TV app

Do you have judder reduction turned on in the Stream puck settings? This will switch the video output for apps from 50Hz to 60Hz which can help reduce the frame duplication (or freezing) you get from 24fps content.

Sky Stream pucks have no form of frame rate matching so if you are watching a movie which was shot at 24fps with judder reduction turned off, it will output at the puck's native 50Hz, therefore introducing momentary freezing/judder as it duplicates a frame every now and again.

Outputting at 60Hz helps disguise this and can make the output smoother.

If you want native frame rates from apps then you need to use different hardware like an Apple TV 4K box

For the sound issue, if your having issues with the sound stopping and starting, try playing something on Apple TV and when the sound starts stuttering try turning the tv on and off.

I have an LG C8. It's more than a sound judder. I get a white line across the screen, a nano second freeze of both picture and sound.

Apple TV works fine on the TV app, Roku and Amazon fire stick.

With further experimentation it seems that if I leave the picture at 1080 I have no issues but if I reset it to 2160.it jumps all over the place.

My TV usually has no issues with any other app and indeed Apple TV on other platforms such as Roku.

That checked that made the adjustments but sadly no difference. It's the Apple TV app only on the sky puck that's affected.
