Brand new Remote not working

The new remote does not connect with the sky stream puck and I cannot slide the remote open as the instructions say

You'll have to persevere and slide that back off to see if any paper is stuck between the battery and the contact.

It only moves a few mm, try putting it on a tea towel and wear a rubber glove for grip.

@Ivor12Removing the back of the remote can be a problem the first couple of times as it it very stiff. A number of people have found that wearing rubber kitchen gloves helps to give more purchase on the plastic components.

THIS is the recommended method as suggested by Sky

I find holding the remote at both ends with the buttons down and my thumbs on top and then applying pressure and pushing with one thumb and pulling with the other in the direction of the arrow is sufficient to remove the cover. Note the back only moves a few millimetres and can then be lifted off.
