I am about to upgrade my TV from my Toshiba LED. Unfortunately, I don't think I can stretch to an OLED. What are members' experiences using a QLED or MINI LED TV with Stream and which ones would you recommend?

Different makes and models use different operating systems and offer more versatile connection options. Sky Stream doesn't care what kind of TV technology it's attached to, be it LCD, OLED, QLED or miniLED, it's all about how you want an image to look and the only way to find out if you like the picture quality and options available on a TV is to try some out.

We've got a Samsung QLED and the quality is excellent with Sky Stream. Make sure whatever TV you get supports HLG and HDR10 at least with Dolby Vision being an added bonus, HDMI 2.1 and eARC if you're using soundbar.

Make sure the soundbar also supports Atmos, HDMI 2.1 and eARC. Atmos for the brilliant sound and HDMI 2.1 and eARC to avoid sound sync issues.

If we're playing 'my OLED's better than yours' then I can heartily recommend Panasonic's award winning range, particularly if picture quality is your top priority.
The one I have produces a sublime image & has all flavours of HDR: HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

I have Freeview Play and Freesat on mine, both of which can be recorded direct to USB flash drive. You can even pause live TV if you like.

They offer different OS options too. The one I have has the MyHomeScreen system which is IMHO the best and most basic option without the clutter of advertising. It has all the standard UK apps as well as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, AppleTV+ and others. Some of their other models have GoogleTV or FireTV OS so there are endless options for customisation.

After some concerns about screen burn (raised on another forum) I decided to go for a Phillips Mini LED and I am delighted with the results. Sparklingly clear pictures on everything, like night and day compared to my old Toshiba LED. Watching The Newsroom was like watching a different show. Such a beautifully clear picture with lovely dark blacks. So far, I am very happy to have gone down this road.
