Sky use technical measures to ensure that services are only being used in the location they should.

More info here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/use-of-streaming-tv-subscription-outside-your-address

Sky can impose additional charges on your account or restrict your service if they detect a breach.

MikeAlanR

I currently have Sky Stream in two properties and have to pay twice no only for each package but also for skipping ads and UHD. Why cant I just take my puck with me and plug it in??

Because it would be a breach of the Terms & Conditions you've agreed to by taking Sky services.

You cannot takenmyour boxes from one address to another at random.

Sky is a per property service and always has been. That's why a Sky account has to be registered to the address the service has to be used in.
