Can't turn down brightness

When I stream on my Puck the picture is way too bright. I cannot open the settings menu on my tv with the tv remote but can adjust the volume and change the source etc but my tv remote doesn't work with anything else when I'm using the Puck. Does anyone know how I can change this? It would be nice to be able to use the full functionality of my tv remote but it seems no matter what I do this is not possible when streaming.

Does your TV remote function correctly when the puck is switched off?

There's no brightness control on the Stream puck, and a Stream remote cannot access or adjust screen settings on a television set, even if 'paired' for volume control. You'll need to resolve the issue using the remote contol handset which came with the television set.

Just want to add that i get this too, my Netflix account is unwatchable when playing. It's like the brightness has been turned way up ??!!

Your TV may have turned on HDR which is a particularly vivid colours and often brighter. If you're not a fan you can probably turn it off on your TV settings.

Turn of "CEC Pass through" or something similar on the TV and it should work. The TV remote doesn't work on some TV inputs when CEC is on.

If not you may need to try to adjust it with the Puck turned off.

When in the Netflix menu screen everything is OK, the contrast is fine it is just when you select a program to watch that it changes to have brightness way up.

So I agree something is occuring when the picture setting are sent through. I'll keep digging as I Ideally (as I'm sure people will understand) do not want to have to adjust my tv settings to watch one channel, when all the others channels/apps via the puck seem fine and don't go to this extreme..

If you have a Netflix Premium subscription then many shows and movies on the service will output in HDR (High Dynamic Range) - either in the HDR10 or Dolby Vision formats, depending on whether your TV is compatible or not.

Your TV will switch to its HDR or Dolby Vision picture setting when it detects an HDR signal from Netflix. This will push the brightness automatically to maximum to give the higher dynamic range. You need to adjust the HDR picture setting to a level that works for you. Your TV should then remember this and automatically switch to it when you watch an HDR programme or movie on the Netflix app on your puck.
