Can’t pair new sky stream remote

My sky stream remote broke so I've ordered a new one but I can't figure out how to pair the new remote to my sky stream box. I've tried holding down 1&3 for 3 seconds and nothing happens? Does anyone know how to stream a new remote to my old box?

@MLOTRemove the back of the remote and make sure none of the paper/plastic pull tab has broken off and is still preventing the batteries from making proper contact. This is quite a common issue.

To pair the new remote do the following:

Press 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds (This resets/clears the remote)
Press 1 and 3 together for three seconds (bluetooth mode). A connected message should appear on your screen, press continue and it's all done.

Spent hours resetting the puck and remote only to realise my old video player was interfering with the sync. Unplugged it and hey presto it all worked perfectly. Make sure any other infra red devices are switched off when syncing the remote.
