Sky Store error mesage.

I keep gettng an EC500 error mesage when I want to buy and keep a movie from Sky Store.

"We're experiencing some issues at the moment. Please try again later" (EC500)

This doesn't happen when I rent , only when I want to 'buy and keep'

Have you checked to see if you can purchase the same Buy and Keep film via the online Sky Store instead:

www.skystore.com

If you can you can then send it to your Sky Q box.

All I can suggest is raise it with Sky

If you can rent movies then you should also be able to buy and keep them I would have thought.

As CeasarRome suggests, maybe a try purchasing in the Sky store (www.skystore.com) and then see if it downloads to your Sky box.

We found Sky unhelpful and evasive but sounds like we have a different issue to you.

No, just given a work around and no real explaination of why this is an issue.

Presume you talked to Sky Store team. We found them somewhat unhelpful. Not sure if they don't know although we reckon they know more than they are prepared to share.
we have a work around. It works but it is not as convenient as downloading purchased films to our Sky+ HD box.

Yes I did. Just given a vague answer and told to try buying from online store and sending to box. I reckon it is because my box is fairly old, and they don’t want to give me a new one. I live in flats and we can’t get Sky Q because reliant on a communal dish rather than fibre. I would hazard a guess they want to do away with dishes altogether. All their investment goes into Sky Glass and Sky Q boxes which need fibre.

Take it you have a Sky+ HD box. If it has version 4f31xx or higher you should be able to download movies (Services/Settings/Details).

Yes, Sky may be moving to a pure internet service provider and getting rid of dishes
