Hi the exact same thing is happening to me,

I've since bought it twive I believe

first forum I read said to delete the rental and check the deleted folder... it wasn't there

i repurchased and it's still saying download failed,

it states rented in HD

but not available to download or watch without getting the 'download failed' error message
