I've purchased a movie rental from the sky store to watch on sky go - unfortunately I can't seem to find this movie on the sky store app to watch on sky go please help?

It isn't possible to watch any Sky Store film on Sky Go.

There is a Sky Store app that can be installed on mobiles and tablets that you will be able to watch the rented film back on or failing that you can watch it back via the Sky Store website itself.

@Unjustified Your not the only one, tried to use some credit in account. Rented wonder women, now to find can't play it for the family. Last time I rent from Sky, what Gauls me is the lack of transparency in this matter. No pop up warnings you can't use their Sky Go app or indeed box.

Lesson learnt I suppose.

On the off chance -

If you have a recent LG TV you can use the Skystore app to view it on your TV

If you have a recent Sony TV with built in Chromecast- or any TV with a separate Chromecast- this should also allow you to cast from a portable device to your TV (I've not seen this myself but others on the forum have reported it works)

@mike+simmonds Unfortunately no, got a Samsung QLED TV. Sky store is video blocked if I try and use the web app. Likewise if I try to mirror my device, get warning and block.
I have not had problem with purchases, but it seems to be different rules for Rentals. Looking through this forum I am not the only one, it shouldn't be that you only find out from the forum or some small print.
Luckily it was with credit so not as peeved as I would have been if I had spent my own money. Just another nail in Sky subscription coffin when comes to renewal, movies is the first to go.

Yes - the rules for Buy and Keep are much more relaxed than rentals. You can buy online and choose "send to box"

I don't know why the Skystore app is limited to LG TVs

Equally, I don't know why Sky don't allow "send to box" on a rental. I'll try to find out and will post again if I do

Why are Sky limiting the platforms on which to view the content of sky store and why isn't there an option to view the movies we purchase and keep on sky go? Its misleading and I agree there should be a pop up banne informing us the customer on its limited access to watch our purchases.

Although you can't use Sky Go - you can use a Skystore app which is free to download

No Sky Store purchases can be viewed via Sky Go, but can via the Sky Store app instead.

As a sky user of 22 years I find it ridiculous that you can't watch a movie you've paid for on your own device. I just tried and it's <removed> me off. Sky are terrible at customer service, they still use covid as an an excuse for long wait times, they deny telling you something when it comes to prices etc. If I could leave I would but have so many movies paid for that I will lose as they now say sorry you can't download them. They are liers and cheaters. Avoid at all cost.

No SkyGo is available on AppleTV can we please have the option to play purchases on AppleTV too, or allow SkyStore to screen cast. It's bad that we buy a film, but can't watch it on any TV we choose?
