iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max/Duo Order Thread

Couldn't see another thread for this, thought I'd start one for those placing an order today/over the next few weeks.

Pre-orders open at 1pm today (12th September). Not sure what the demand will be like, expect it'll be a little lower than last year.

Pre-orders for the Duo open on 16th October.

Anyone planning to place an order today? I can't decide between the Burgundy or Black 18 Pro.

Hopefully Sky are a little smoother with delivering these on time this year, last few years there's been issues with people pre-ordering minutes after orders open, being told their delivery date was the launch day, only for their order to be pushed back into October.

If there is a delay, Sky in the past haven't let people cancel pre-orders easily or at all, which has been frustrating - even more important they get stock/deliveries right this time.

There will always be delays for some @Wurst1 as there is never enough initial stock for the amount of orders placed.

That's not what I'm saying @63johnw - of course demand can outstrip supply.

But in the past, Sky has let people place pre-orders while giving expected delivery dates of [x], and even confirming those delivery dates when their orders have been processed, only to then later not dispatch them on time or send a later email stating it's been delayed - sometimes by weeks.

I get that some of this is out of their hands e.g. delayed shipments due to hurricanes, constrained supply etc. But Sky will know in advance how many handsets they have been allocated.

I hope you're wrong too. They would save thousands of pounds and hours of staff time dealing with frustrated customers if they just got a proper grip on their order system instead of over-committing.

Also to give the option for customers to cancel pre-orders easily instead of making it almost impossible. They have an odd order system which allocates a handset to a customer, yet even though it hasn't even arrived in their warehouse and won't be shipped for a week or more you can't cancel it and have to wait to refuse delivery or send it back.

Gotta laugh at how poor it is year after year, you'd think they'd have a grip on it by now. Hopefully they do.

Upgrade your device:

Go to your My Sky account and sign in.
Select the device you want to upgrade and Start your upgrade or Shop now.

Swap your device:

Go to your My Sky account and sign in.
Select the device you want to Swap and Start your upgrade.

Track your order:

Go to your My Sky account and sign in.
Visit the My Profile section and select My Orders.

One question about 'Swap'...

I've been with Sky Mobile for years and paid off multiple devices. I've just ordered a new 18 Pro through the swap process for my current device (17 Pro Max). Can I cancel the swap and keep both the new device and the old one and continue to pay both?

I may look to sell the 17 Pro Max to get a better price for it than what I accepted with the 'Swap' valuation online (I haven't sent the device back yet obviously). I assume I'm not committed to that, I'm still accepted for the 18 Pro order and can just decide to do something different with the 17 Pro Max.

You would need to call sky on 150 to cancel the swap @Wurst1 as they would be expecting your old device to be returned.

You can cancel the swap but do so you will need to call Sky so if your iPhone has a Sky sim in it then 150 is the free number to use to call them on.

The instructions state I need to wait for the return packaging and then send the old device back for valuation.

I assume I can just not return it, the swap request will cancel eventually (I think it says 14 days to return?) and then I'm left with paying for both devices?

It happens on iPhone and iPad, received email to pre-order, followed link and still got this screen and I''m fed up of trying, if they don't want my money so be it. Sorry if I sound angry I'm just very frustrated with them at the moment.

Frustration trying to get through to a Upgrade advisor

Ok first the rant, i shouldnt have to keep skipping through hoops to get through to an advisor via the AI bot regarding a contract upgrade. It had me so frustrated i was tempted to just let the contract end next month and leave it be.

However i figured id try here instead to see if anyone can help me.

So, phone contract runs out next month and the new iphone is coming out. Im looking to upgrade from the 1tb 17 pro max to the 2tb 18 pro max but obviously there is a price difference. I was wondering if sky would give any options to pay more upfront during the upgrade to keep the cost the same each month or to extend the contract length to account for the extra amount.

any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.
