topic O2 DOWN UNTIL 18 th SEPTEMBER in Sky Mobile

Because O2 is down in Lincolnshire until 18th September I cannot connect to any network at all. Sky has offered no help at all. I am 76 years old. I cannot phone my doctor for help, phone for an ambulance or phone any relatives. Sky should connect us to an alternative network until O2 finishes their upgrade

@Skybiz wrote:
I cannot connect to any network at all.

and

Sky should connect us to an alternative network until O2 finishes their upgrade

@Skybiz

There's nothing preventing you from purchasing a SIM card from an alternative provider and popping it in your Sky mobile (which is unlocked for any network) but if they also use the same mast you'll be in the same position.

In case you aren't aware Sky don't own or maintain any mobile masts so if there is an issue you and others in the area will be relying on a third party fix.

Unlike broadband and landline there is no automatic compensation for mobile services. Once it's restored ask Sky if they'll add a credit to your mobile account as a goodwill gesture but there's no obligation for them to do so.

Also if you need to call an ambulance your phone will use any network to phone 999 if your usual network is unavailable.
