Thanks, that's been a big help.

So what I'll do is not activate my E-sim on new phone. See out my contract, then will be able to choose a new contract once that's finished. E-sim will drop off account at some point, as it's not been activated.

Hi all, may have done something silly and wonder what the options are. Had an old phone that had quite a few months left of the contract, but I'm happy to pay off. Battery etc was rubbish.

Ordered a new phone via the sky app, with a new contract (so I'd have 2 contracts at once until I paid off first contract).

Got new phone and put old sim in phone, so that I can keep my number. However, I can't activate the new sim, as I've got rid of the old phone handset, and you can't receive a PAC number whilst moving from sky contract to sky contract.

What are my options? Thanks

Did you physically swap your old sim to the new phone or are you trying to port you old number to a new Sky sim?

If so you can't port a number from one Sky sim to another. You simly need to use your old sim in the new phine.

Yes, it is a confusing one sorry.

I've physically moved my old sim correct. so the phone works, I have my old number.

The problem is it's asking me to activate my new E-sim. Which, presumably, would be a different number

My old phone had my old contract, but I guess I want the new "contract", which i got with the new phone, but with my new phone and old number.

Is this possible?

@MA112 Don't activate the eSim as that is a new Data plan and will have a new number & new data plan in addition to your current old data plan.

Phone Contracts & Data plans are seperate, so it sounds like you added a New Data Plan when you ordered the new phone, which you didn't need to do.

There is no whay to port a Sky number from the old sim to the new Sky sim, if you really want the new data plan then you'll need to port your number to another providers PAYGO sim, then port in to your new sim.

On that note you can convert your physical sim to eSim on the new phone if that is the route you want to go down. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/esim-sky-mobile-convert-sim

Thanks for both replies. Just for peace of mind - when I ordered the new sim (and contract), I did the little signature at the end via the online app - even though I've done that when I ordered the new phone, I won't be charged etc as long as I don't activate the e sim on the new phone, and just keep using my old contract (with physical sim which is now in new phone) - which still has months to run?
