Error linking sky Id to mobile

I've recently rejoined sky after a long time. I have tv, getting broadband installed soon and applied for two sky sims.

I'm following the registration process for the sim, but it seems to be failing at the initial step to link my sky id to the acocunt

"Before we activate your SIM, we need to link your Sky iD log in details to your account.

You'll then be able to manage all your Sky products from one account.

After I enter my name & billing details it goes straight to an error screen

"Whoops, there's been an error"

There no steps or process on what to do next.

Help?

You are not trying to do this either the account you previously had are you as that will have been long since closed.

no, this is a fresh setup. all other services are working ok and linked - sky tv etc.

only linking mobile is having an issue.

I would suggest calling and ask to be transferred to them.
