My mobile deal is coming to an end. My handset Is paid pff next month, I intend to keep using the handset, is there anything I need to do?

my sim deal finishes around the same time. Can I just buy a replacement sky sim?

sky offer reasonable deals that will do me.

Are there restrictions on what I can buy?

No. Your handset payments will cease (assuming it is the end as contracts are often 12 months longer than many realise, e.g. Swap24 is 3 years) and your dataplan will continue until you take action.

Any new deal you purchase will be in addition to your current SIM with a new phone number.

If you're happy to change phone numbers then you can order and activate a new deal and then cancel your existing one.

If you want to keep your phone number you have 2 options.

1) Call Sky and see if you can negotiate a deal (Expect them to say no)

2) A protracted workaround by porting your number out of the network and back again.

Phones from Sky are not network locked.

do I have to change the sim in order to get a new deal? I would rather keep my old number.

Presimeably if I do nothing do I revert to full pprice for the existing sim data plan? Ie no discount.

As above. Call Sky and see if they'll apply a new offer to your current SIM.

If they won't then you have to consider your options.

Yes.

You can change your dataplan from the options available under your account - but they are not discounted offers.

Usual sky nonsense. Data plans being made available to upgrade existing sim are expensive otherwise buy a new sim with a sensible monthly cost and change the number Tedious!

Any other ideas?

he only way to do this is to get a pac code and move your number to a PAYG network then move it back from that network to your new Sky sim once you have activated it. There is no other way to do this.

Don't do anything and keep the dataplan past the discount expiry.

pretty much come to that conclusion myself.

out of contract the price goes up a bit but not a lot. Nothing needs to be done either.
