5g upgrade scam?

Just had a call advising an upgrade from 4g to 5g sim card to arrive tomorrow. They asked for my email address and home address which foolishly i gave, but no passwords. I suspect a scam,. have changed my password. any other recommendations?

Yes, it's a scam.

Monitor your account to ensure no expensive devices have been ordered. The scam usually involves compromising your account and then ordering said devices that they collect from you. They have the device, you have the bill.

@Ron86 100% scam as you don't need a new sim to add 5G as that can be achived through your mobile account by selecting 5G add on (this assumes you never added 5G).

You do not need a new sim card to be able to access 5G, as you just apply the 5G add on to your account.

Do you use an email address as a login to your online account ?

If you receive any device to you home then call Sky and do not hand it over to an courier that turns up.

Thank you for your replies. Additionally, and I'm embarrassed to say this, they sent me a 6 digit code which I read back to them. Stupid stupid.

I wonder what other implications this may bring. Thanks again.

If you receive an unexpected parcel from Sky get in touch with our customer services team immediately. We can give advice on what to do. Don’t send the parcel anywhere except our returns address.

We’ll give you pre-paid returns packaging to send the parcel back to us.

it was a scam call so to be on the safe side I would change your online password:

https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/

Also keep an eye on your bank account for any fraudulent payments and if anything appears then report it to your bank as soon as you can.

If you read back the 6 digit code to the scammers then they now have access to your account as that was the 2fa code, I hope you've changed your password by now & checked that no expensive devices have been ordered.
