Hi , I need to change my current sim to an eSIM as I have upgraded my phone from S 20 to S26 . My physical sim can not recieve texts to the number , i do get emails. The sim does not even register anymore. Id like to keep my old number and recieve a esim of that number however i cant do it as Sky send verification to old number and i dont recieve it . Ive spoke to Sky twice about this with no results . They sent me a new sim what did not have my old number on it , and i asked for a E sim of my old number with no result. Very dissapointed that i will have to change to the new mobiles number . Locked in 3 yr contract now and unhappy re this situation i thought Sky would of helped me sort this out ? !

Sky cannot send a SIM with any number on it. That's not how SIM's work.

Numbers are assigned during the activation or replacement process (Or via applying a PAC for a number from a different network).

AIUI the S26 takes a physical SIM so no need to convert.

It's not clear what's happened but the usual process is to simply move the old SIM to the new phone and not to activate any new SIM.
