Some IVRs not working on my iPhone

I an trying to dial a telephone number which has an IVR system. When i select option 1 (or any option) the IVR the other end is not recognising that I am pressing anything (even though my phone is beeping) so the message cuts me off as it thinks I am not selecting an option. My husband (also on sky) tried the number with the same result. He then tried it from his work vodafone and got through and my colleague could also get through on a different network. I called up sky and they dont really know what the issue is. I wondered if anyone else had this issue before?

Its only happening on one contact centre that I have found so far but I havent called that many and this particular one is one I need to call for work so I need it to work.

It seems Sky's DTMF are not recognized by some IVR's.

There's no workaround.

You'll have to contact/complain to Sky... (But they might argue it's the IVR at issue)

My Wife and I have just moved to Sky and have exaclty the same problem but only when dialing our Doctor's surgery switchboard. Key option numbers imputted aren't recognised and the system just reverts to the welcome screen. We've tried another SIM in our phones and both work fine so the issue is definately with Sky. Obviously not being able to contact your doctors isn't a good thing. Did you have any success sorting it? The comments I'm reading make me think contacting Sky support will be a waste of time.

My findings were that it is sky and certain smaller

company telephone systems and nothing can be done at all. I wouldn't contact sky as that is what they told me. Good luck.

We’re seeing multiple reports from our customers who are Sky Mobile users experiencing issues when selecting certain options on our auto attendant. This is causing some of them to be unable to reach us, which is impacting our ability to support them effectively.

Just wanted to flag that this isn’t an isolated case on the caller side—it’s affecting us as a business on the receiving end too. If anyone from Sky or the community has updates or workarounds, we’d appreciate any guidance.

We're also using a state of the art modern VOIP provider, using an IVR is essential to our business for tracking call data.

Try WiFi calling if you can enable it

Agreed - it needs sorting. I can’t ring my pension provider, but who knows who is next to use the same system.

I got in touch with Sky technical support and after several attempts, the matter has now been resolved. I had to resort to going to the top (CEO) to get this noticed and eventually resolved. I did refer to the forums on Sky community that several users were having the same problem.

Can you share what sky did to resolve the issue for you @TheGadgetmanMP ?

Hi 63johnw they did not share the details of how it was resolved but it just worked. I'm thinking it should work universally - have you tried it ? I'm sure they must have made a change in the settings that apply to all as I did refer to our conversation on this forum. Give it a try !!

It's always worked for me @TheGadgetmanMP I have never had a system not recognise it when I try.
