On the 10/1/26, my wife an I received a phone call from someone connected to Sky. They offered to reduce our Sky, Broadband and mobile package. They also offered me a gift on an iPhone 17 pro max and my wife an Apple iPad. Both of these items we paid an amount that the supervisor asked for. We then arranged delivery for Monday 12/1. When opening the package, we had received two apple iPads and two iPhone 17 pro max phones. I then received a phone call from another supervisor telling the order is wrong, and could I arrange to send them back. Which I did the same evening. This was on a promise that they would rearrange delivery for the correct items. I then received another phone call on the 13/1 asking when would be an ideal delivery date, in which I agreed. I then had to go through the whole process again of choosing a phone and iPad and they were asking for more money. I said to the agent that I will not pay another penny until I see my original payment of £86 in my account. I started to worry that this was a scam.

I still have not received my money back in my account and no phone or iPad. I've tried calling the number they contacted me on, and no response!.

Can someone advise what is happening please?!

@GregW73_ Did it not seem strange that Sky would call you out of the blue and offer not only discounts on your services but also the lasted flagship iPhone for free(worth £1300+) and a free iPad(worth at least £500)?

I mean that screams scam.....

Unfortunately criminals traditionally aren't great at refunds or customer service. You'll now need to negotiate with actual Sky because the full cost of the hardware will be charged against your Sky account, but they aren't absolutely obliged to compensate you themselves as that means taking the considerable financial loss for your actions. The items you 'sent back' (to what will have been a bogus address) are probably already overseas or being broken up for parts, and are effectively irretrievable.

Also make sure you are extremely wary of unsolicited inbound calls 'from Sky' or anyone else going forward: scammers will now see you as a good target and your details are likely to be circulated more widely.
