Sorry me again! Do I need to let Sky know or just go ahead and order a sim only from another company?

I purchased a phone with Sky mobile with added watch and AirPods and have activated the sim/ transferred my number but the plan only has 1GB of data and the cost to add unlimited is too expensive. Can I use another sim from a sim only company to get unlimited data and transfer the same number?

Hi @KateK3 yes you can use any sim as all phones from sky are unlocked. You would need to port your number using a PAC to the other network. If you are outside the 31 day cooling off period or have been using the sim less than 12 months there will be early termination charges.

Thank you! I am inside the 31 day cooling off period. How will that work with Sky? Will they not think I am leaving them or will they continue to bill me with the monthly cost for the phone, watch and pods? Sorry it's all a bit confusing 🫤

You just need to order your new sim @KateK3 then activate it when it arrives, then get your PAC from sky and give it to your new network. The next working day your number will transfer and that will close the sky sim. You don't need to tell sky. You will be billed for the days you used the sky sim. Porting doesn't happen at weekends so if you use your PAC on a Friday or the weekend it would be the Monday/Tuesday before the port completes.
