topic eSim in Sky Mobile

My phone with my eSim broke. I got a new phone straight away and wanted to keep my old number. I thought that this would be very straightforward as it is with every other network but its turned out to be a major issue and after numerous phone calls I've been told that its not possible as the security codes for the new eSim are being sent to my number which i dont have access to (broken phone). I've been trying to resolve this issue for 3-4 days already and I've just been told by customer care that someone will call me in another 48 hours to help. I dont understand how such a simple problem cannot be solved. I've been told that this was the first time that they have come across this issue (someone with an esim losing/braking their phone) so they are unsure what to do.

Please help, its the busiest week of the year and I need a phone with my number asap
