I have not heard of this from anywhere here or from sky. If you gave them any information immediately go to your account and change your password.

Sky rebate/refund

I received a call from a mobile number in the UK from a guy called Isaac. He had an Indian accent and claimed to be from Sky mobile. He said that they were offereing refunds/rebates for poor service. He then proceeded to ask questions about my account which I declined to answer. Are Sky doing this or was it more likely a scam? I think the latter but I've never had these types of calls before.

@StevenFinlay

Sky don't call offering refunds like that.

Scammers try to obtain sufficient information to be able to order expensive mobile devices under your name which Sky innocently deliver.

The scammers would then recontact you (again claiming to be Sky) saying they've made a mistake and to send it to a (non Sky) address. If you did that they then have the device and you have the bill.

They are very cunning. They may send packaging to post the item (to them) or even send a 'courier' to collect it.

See this link

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover

With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose.

If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll likely be a scam call.

I gave them no details. I told them I wasn't comfortable discussing it over the phone and hung up. I'll change the password just as a matter of course though.

That does sound very much like a scam call designed so they can capture your Sky account details so they can order devices via it.
