Sim stopped working whilst abroad

My phone was working fine when we landed on Thursday and then had stopped late Friday night. It is my sim not my phone. Now had to purchase a SIM card to use whilst out here. I cannot convert to an eSIM as it wants to send a text message to the number. Virtual assistant hasn't helped and cannot get on the live chat. Any suggestions? I need to get it fixed before coming home as will need my phone

Sadly it worked but only for 20 seconds and then straight back to SOS....

If it's an iPhone @KATEEVERTON1995 try settings before, mobile service, sim application and change the setting there.

Sadly that hasn't worked either.... I keep trying to contact Sky but all I get please telephone but when your sim doesn't work this isn't possible.... I am just going round in circles
