If you cancel the SIM then the number is lost.

If he wants to keep the number then the only workaround is to port the number out of the network (non Sky) and then to the new Sky account.

I have a foster child whose SIM I pay for monthly. Now he is over 18 he should pay for it himself. He got a SIM from Sky but wants to keep his number. We now find the number can't be transferred from my account to his own account.

Is it possible for me to stop paying for his SIM? I get the impression from Sky that I can't until he ports the number to a new provider.

He is quite laid back to put it mildly and I can't get him to take responsibility for it. It seems the only way is to cut the service,, but is that possible?

Is there a solution?

Thanks, I should have said I'm past caring about whether he keeps the number, that's for him to worry about. I just want to stop the payments and he's already had long enough to sort it out.
