Upgraded phone and Old SIM card

Hi i have upgrade my phone from the Iphone 14, to the Iphone 17 and have paid my old one off in full. I have set up the direct debit for the new phone but am confused about the SIM card. Will the SIM card still work for my new phone? And will the price remain the same? I am very confused as to how it all works and haven't found anything helpful!!

Do not activate any new SIM.

If you are sent a new sim card with your new iphone then as long as you do not activate it you will not be charged for it so you cdan continue to use the one you have got.
