I have been on a cruise and have been charged £45 for 1 day roaming. I had no text message to say this was happening and only knew when they text me to say I was up to my spend cap. I have been charged £80 for my next bill.

Help!!!!!

Not sure what help you need? If you'vre been in a 'rest of world' location then you are charged up to your spend cap - and data is usually around £2,000 to £4,000 per GB.

If the charges have been incurred then you are liable for them.

You could call Sky and see if they are prepared to apply any goodwill but expect them to refuse.

Charges whilst on a cruise can be particularly high as you've found out. Contact Sky if you wish but there's not much doubt the costs were incurred.

From the T&C's: (My emphasis)

"When you travel abroad, we will attempt to send you a Welcome text which will include roaming charges for the destination you're visiting. We’ve also set up a worldwide data roaming spend cap of £45 per month for each SIM so you'll never spend more than you want to on data."

You can try and state you did not receive the welcome message but it appears this isn't guaranteed. But the counter argument is that you knew you were roaming so should have checked the tariff before using it.
