Switching from o2 to sky mobile

I am considering switching from o2 to sky mobile on a sim only contract and therefore keep my existing number. I have an iPhone 15 plus so would want an eSIM rather than a physical SIM card. From requesting my PAC code, how long does it take to switch and does this mean I can't use my mobile at all until the switch is complete? Thanks

When you give Sky a pac code then usually the number should transfer over on the next working day or at the very least the following day. The eSIM needs to be active on your account before you give Sky the pac code.

So does that mean I won't be able to use my phone until the switch has taken place? I need my phone for work and really can't be without it for 1-2 days.

No, your phone will continue to work. On the day of the switch, you will lose connection to O2 (the exact time this will happen can't be confirmed) and that's when to start using your Sky SIM.

When you activate the eSIM it will be allocated a temporary number which will then change to the one from your other network after you have given Sky the pac code.
