Hi,apologies if this is a simple question I am just not very 'techy' with these things.

My contract is due to expire very soon and I'm considering an upgrade, I will keep my old handset and sell this privately. When my new handset is to arrive does this automatically carry on with my current sim plan and the same number? Eg I just turn the phone on,transfer all my data cross (photos, apps etc on Apple) and it will just keep running with my original plan. I am concerned that if I do this il end up paying for two sim plans (original one plus one that may come with new handset),I hope someone can help with this and explain it like I'm a 5 year old.

thanks in advance

You can upgrade the phone only and not order a new sim plan. So if you do this then just change the sim from the old phone to the new one, the new phone might come with a new sim but you don't need to activate it otherwise you will be charged for it.

The sim is separate to the phone so you will have a contract for this, sim offers usually last for 12 months unless otherwise stated.
