I am going on a cruise to the Caribbean and need access to e mails etc. Can anyone advise how to do this. Thanks

Hi @Avril69 you won't be able to do it cheaply. The cruise ships normally have WiFi but it's very expensive. Using your mobile data when on the islands is also very expensive.

For a small amount of data usage (emails, browsing) then the ship's WiFi will probably be the cheapest - but it will depend on the service.

Last time I used the cruise service I pre-purchase a few gig. They often provide some 'free' before charging. But check who you are cruising with.

Laws of physics apply. Cellular services only works within range (a few kilometres ) of a land-based cellphone mast , so isn't much use out at sea. Shipboard communication with the outside world goes over a two-way satellite link which is why it's so expensive.

Anywhere on land in that region will be hugely expensive (several pounds per megabyte) apart from on the very small number of islands which are overseas territories of EU nations where £2 per day 'roaming' applies.
