I am trying to move to sky mobile but their credit check rejects me constantly. There is no reason as to why and I have checked with both companies they use. Both reports came back with perfect credit score for me. Yesterday Sky told me that my address could not be matched but both companies and Sky have the correct address and name for me. I am at a loss as to what to do! I have been with Sky internet for 6 years now. The customer service has no solution for the first time in 6 years. Please can someone help?

If you're failing the checks there's nothing fellow customers here can do for you, See this link for Skys guidance ~
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/credit-checks-sky-mobile

Be aware that if you keep trying to order the device this could further impact your credit score. If you contact Sky they would be able to confirm that’s the reason your order was cancelled but not why you failed the credit check in the first place as they are not allowed to view your credit record.

Any upfront payment you’ve made should be refunded after about 14 days but recent posts suggest it’s taking a bit longer in which case you’ll need to call Sky to chase it up.

Also see this help

I contacted Sky but they said the reason for failing was that the address could not be matched. All addresses and names are the same. I don't know why Sky will not help. There has to be a solution to that. Both credit checking companies say there is no reason why Sky would reject me. Especially since I have been their customer for 6 years I don't understand why they would for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Can someone please tell me who I need to talk to at Sky so that this is rectified? It clearly is a big Sky issue.

I have made a formal complaint yesterday. I am not able to see their records only their bills and all three addresses match. There is therefore no reason at all for their rejection. Also, I think it is wrong to reject someone who has never had a bad credit score and has proven to be loyal customer for 6 years and has never once failed to pay the bill of any bill for that matter. I may contact the customer protection agency, perhaps they can tell me what to do about this.

I get that but I will not be the only one effected by their issue. I also know that the best advertisement is recommendation and I sure will no longer recommend Sky now. In fact I will cancel all other Sky products. How counter productive is that attitude?... anyways. I came here to try and find out what I can do, not to rand about the unexpectedly bad customer service that I have received. Since there is no solution found here either, I know my options.

I think that misses the point, it makes a huge difference, they are happy to talk £xxx a month and put that up

but whatever their system us it's wrong

ignoring not needing a nanny state check, , I would get it if there was an issue but perfect score means no credit risks. Great track record with Sky etc there's no risk factor. But what I think, like the original poster, is it's their system. An address error or in spelling mistake and your penalised

their loss as I've already gone to another provider and am about to cancel all Sky so they get no more money

plus I bought what they would sell me

It's also bad they jump straight to hard credit searches

@Mishro wrote:

@Mishro There is no such status as "No credit risk" , your credit score isn't the only factor taken in to account when lenders make a decision, they look at the amount of open credit accounts on your file and if that number exceeds their acceptance criteria you will be declined, regardless of whether you can afford it.

If you have entered any details wrongly then that's on you, its not the fault of Sky or their system, they reject when errors are made to prevent fraud(all providers that offer any credit will do the same).

That's what I'm thinking. I've just seen on MoneySavingExpert forum

"I got to the bottom of the problem! The address database is different from the one used by Experian and my addresses had to be corrected to what they have but their database is inaccurate. One address is seen as one house when in fact it has a total of 4 individually numbered flats. Hence the discrepancy"

The county I live in can be written in more than one way so I'm guessing its something to do with that.

Amazing that I could get a mortgage for considerably more than £1/month.
