Can I use Roaming in Egypt?

You can use your mobile in Egypt but it will cost you a fair bit to do so:

£2,160 per GB (yes this is correct)

£2.16 per minute Calls to local or UK mobile and landline numbers

£1.80 per minute to receive calls

£0.50 per text message to UK numbers and mobiles

£0.58 per picture message(MMS)

So if I turn my data etc off and connect to WIFI is that fine or will I be charged?

That should be OK as long as nobody calls you via your phone and you answer it then a charge will kick in. You could see if you can pick up and use a local sim while you are in the country. You would need to turn off data and roaming and it is advisable to do this before you leave the UK.

Use airplane mode - this still allows WiFi connection
