No Sim card in box Iphone16

NoSim..

I am stuggling to install my new IPhone 16.There was no Sim in the box! Is that correct? Is the eSim built in therfore no sim card?

I have managed to get the phone up using the Sim from my old 5S..........

Hi @Bobmercer you can use a physical sim or an e sim (an esim is a digital sim so there is no physical sim if using that option). If you have the phone working with a physical sim then do you still need help ?

When placing the order did you also order a data plan for it because if you did as you already have a sim you would be paying for this second sim so is this what you wanted to do ?

The potential for eSIM functionality is built-in. That's not the same thing as being populated with eSIM details.

Thanks, so as I understand it I can carry on with my previous SIM card!

That is correct, just put the sim you already have in your new phone.
