Sky Mobile Contact - Suspected Scammers

Hi all.

I wanted to ask if Sky Mobile ever contacts customers about its mobile contracts? The reason being, is that every week, sometimes multiple times a week, I get calls from different numbers pertaining to be Sky Mobile. My instincts is telling me these are scammers, but wanted to ask for sure, that Sky does NOT call its customers about mobile contracts.

Thanks in adv. I am just wanting to hear if others have the same experience or maybe this is a targetted attempt.

Almost certainly a scam where they try to obtain sufficient details so that they can order an expensive mobile phone under your details which subsequently gets sent to your address. The scammers then recontact you saying they've made a mistake and to send it to a (non Sky) address. They then have the device and you have the bill.

With any unexpected calls from Sky if the caller asks for your telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which a genuine Sky agent should) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam call.

Thank you. I am going to employ a more proactive approach. Each time these people ring me up, I will put them on hold (mute the call) until they hang up. Just keep doing this.

I am getting the same issue, from multiple different numbers, which I block and another one pops up, several times a week usually early evening, I block and report each time. In future, as suggested by a forumite above, I am going to give them the silent treatment.

I am going to wait for them to say they are sky, and then say, oh hang on a min. Put them on loud speaker, then mute it. Until they hang up.

It's time to get the message across.
