Got my new phone today. Started setting up. Updating the new phone and it froze to the hello screen. I can't do anything with it. Help

Hi @Ms32 try this

Press volume up button quickly and leave
Immediately Press volume down button quickly and leave
Keep holding side button (10 secs) till iPhone reboots and Apple logo appears. Keep holding side button and connect the iPhone to MacBook using USB cable. When you see a computer and cable image on phone let the side button go. The phone is in recovery mode now.
Update iPhone with latest software
Restore phone form iCloud backup

Try holding the power and volume up bottom to see if it will restart.

I've tried holding h the volume up and down then power button but nothing happens. Can I use a normal pc as I don't have a mac book?

Yes, it is ITunes you download, supports both PC operating systems.

Same thing happened to me last week when I was setting up my iPhone 16 Pro Max. It froze on the Hello screen right after trying to update. Super frustrating.

What worked for me was doing a force restart (quickly press Volume Up > Volume Down > then hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears). If that doesn’t work, you might need to restore it using iTunes or Finder on a computer.
