Block Number Still Able To Leave Voicemail

I recently blocked a spam caller to my mobile. However they are still able to leave voice mails, I currently getting 3 or 4 a day. is there anyway to prevent them leaving short voicemail. it's driving me nuts! I don't want blocked callers the ability to go to voicemail.

I think this has come up before on here as I don't think there is anyway to prevent them from doing this as your only option is to disable voicemail but that will then mean that nobody will be able to leave you a message,

It's because blocking the number is a device-level block only.

Voice mail is backend system which cannot be selective.
