The sim should work with the number the sim came with.

Thailand is a rest of the world country so it will be quite expensive to use your mobile there.

Although you don't have to do you have a spend cap set because if you do it needs to be high enough to cover your stay.

That apart have you tried searching for other networks to see if your device will connect and then work ?

Also if your phone is an IOS one try changing the automatic network selection to manual network selection as this will allow you to search for available networks and to connect to one that works for you. You should be able to search for all available networks on an Andriod device as well.

Also make sure this setting is set to Abroad:

Apple:
Settings > Mobile Service > SIM Applications > Make sure this is set to Abroad..

Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Make sure this is set to Abroad.

I joined sky mobile on December 4th and my phone hasn't worked since. No calls, texts or Internet, and Sky are saying that my old number is still porting in and it won't work until it's complete. I am now on holidays in Thailand so I can't phone sky. I was promised that my phone would work within a few days, but it still isn't working and I need to make calls urgently. A huge mistake moving to sky mobile because they don't seem bothered about it

It has nothing to do with the settings. Sky told me it's a porting in issue which they can't seem to resolve? It all seemed to stop working when they tried to port my old number in when I was in the UK. So nothing works at all and Sky don't seem bothered about helping me?
