Unable to use personal hotspot on skys Irish network

As the description states, is this functionality turned off on purpose? The option for personal hotspot doesn't show in settings anymore and my shortcut is blanked out.
if Sky IE doesn't allow personal hotspot I might have to change as I wasn't made aware of this when I joined and I use it a lot for work

I've manually fixed my problem, just had to go into 'mobile service' then 'mobile date network' clear the network provided settings and type - mobile.sky in both mobile date and personal hotspot. Annoying but fixed now, will leave up for others to see and fix if having same issue

Same experience for me. Ported my number from Vodafone IE to Sky IE and lost the Personal Hotspot feature on my iPhone 12.

On the iPhone though, there is a message to contact the carrier to activate the feature on account. I did contacted the Sky Suppport --after several atempts to get a number to be able to call form Ireland (removed) then say "To pay my bill" and then be able to speack to someone (if within their schedule hours Mo-Fri 8am to 6pm) but to find out they have no clue of this issue as according to them is not a feature Sky or any othe rmobile carrier provider can "switch on"...

ANyways, after that waste of time, googled "lost my personal hotspot on iphone" and after few articles found th eon ethat worked flawlessly:

Go to settings > Mobile data network > in 'PERSONAL HOTSPOT SETTING' fill all the fields with any text. Here is what I did (but absolutely any other text works apparently):

1) APN: mobile.sky (actually after porting the number, the Personal Hotspot feature dissapeared completely from my Settings option so found anotheh rthread saying to fill in with @Mobile.sky" and actually this made the Hotspot feature re-apear on my Settings page in the iPhone - so I leave this on there..

2) username: skyphone (but any text should work)

3) password: skyphone123 (but any text should work)

Your hotspot should work now.

After making the iPhone Hotspot visible in settings, there was difficulty connecting an iPad to the net. A fix follows.

Credit is due to the excellent work of 'Pdani' and 'fuzzybody' detailed above. After hotspot was created and connected, there a problem connecting to the net, perhaps due to a recent update.

The fix

On iPhone

Settings-> Mobile Service -> scroll down to 'Mobile Data Network' -> the title 'APN' appears 4 times - > in the first and last enter 'mobile.data'

On iPhone, Personal Hotspot, will appear in settings. An iPad can now be connected to the iPhone's Personal Hotspot - using the password within the iPhone's Personal Hotspot.

- The first APN is a subtitle within a greyed out, mobile data. (With this action, the facility, hotspot appeared in Settings and an iPad could be connected to the iPhone's hotspot but not the internet.)

- The last APN is a subtitle under a greyed out, personal hotspot (With this action, the connected iPad hotspot connection, was now connected to the net.)

On iPhone - create viable hotspot - continued

Settings-> Mobile Service -> scroll down to 'Mobile Data Network' -> the title 'APN' appears 4 times - > in the first and last enter 'mobile.data' or even an ‘x’ will do. The hotspot will work.

Problem - no web access for iPhone apps

Now the iphone will not have access to net. To enable iPhone access to the web, clear all ‘APN’ entries above.

It appears to be a merry-go-round. Help is needed'?

Hi I have the same issue i cant use the hotstop on my sky sim. i have a samsung and cant find how do to what you are suggesting..

any idea for a samsung.. thanks
