Callers to my mobile number were getting 'temporarily unavailable' message when wi-fi was on

Hi all,

When someone tried calling my mobile number a couple of times this morning, he was told that it was temporarily unavailable. The same happened when I tried calling it from my landline: 'The number you are calling is temporarily unavailable'.

I was still getting texts, and I could make outgoing calls. The connection settings looked OK. In between those first two failed calls, I successfully received a call that came from an intercom-type system that controls the gates for the apartment complex I live in (i.e. the call wasn't made from a phone).

I tried restarting the phone, and tried turning Bluetooth off, but neither helped.

Then I turned wi-fi off on the phone, and was able to make a call to it. I turned the wi-fi back on, and it was still accepting calls.

If this was just a freakish one-off thing, I'm not too bothered. But I'm concerned that it might happen often (and that I won't know it's happening until I miss an important call).

Does anyone know anything about this, please?

People trying to call me are being told my number doesn't exist

We are a family of 4 all using the same shared minutes on our account and we have all experienced what the original poster has said. Calls going out to landlines are ok, as well as calls to other networks from our sky mobiles. This has been happening intermittently throughout the day. between all 4 mobiles.

Checked Sky and it says there's nothing wrong with the service.

Thank you ........Yes tried everything OP mentioned - still failing. Must also point out in case I didn't quite make it clear from my orignal message, that it isn't just incoming callers that are experiencing this on our phones, it is also us trying to make outgoing calls to each others mobile too. 3 phones are iphones and one is samsung, although I don't think this is making the problem.

Hi, Having difficulty with mobiles unable to take or make calls sky says no problems really frustrating it's not just local to me both my daughter and my hubby who works away all with sky

Hi yeah I've tried this no joy still unable to make or recieve calls even turned handset off and re started.

Can't make or receive calls

Texts work

Calls don't even connect

Currently talking to sky help team but they're useless

Both on sky, one android, one iPhone. Same problem

We desperately need our phones as trying to sort a recent death in the family and have lots of calls to make and receive

Thanks. Sadly no luck and sky help team are ignoring my DMs

The irony is I was going to get a new iPhone 15 plus today through Sky. I'm not going to now and will look at cancelling all contracts from mobile to internet to TV because of the lack of compassion and communication
