Hi,

I have just returned from holiday in Corfu and have been charged £140 for Albania roaming even though I only travelled in Greece.

This does happen if you were near the border as per this:

As you need to make sure your device connects to the correct network for the country you are in.

In the vicinity of any border, it's quite possible to be physically closer to a cell mast located in a country other than the one you are actually standing in: that generally wouldn't matter much elsewhere in Europe but becomes crucial to be aware of at its periphery because of the potentially huge difference in cost (£2 per day vs several pounds per megabyte)

I wouldn't have minded too much but it was momentarily and cost £140 for 65 meg. Some apps must have been working in the background when it happened.

thats quite a big jump for something I wasn't aware of.

Unfortunately, yes, at the £2.16 per megabyte 'rest of the world' rate, because Albania isn't within the EU/EEA where £2 per day to access a UK bundle applies.

Hi @moreton4 did you remove the data roaming spend cap as that would have at least capped it at £45 ?

Good point, I didn't and it did stop working in Greece for the remainder of my holiday due to the spending cap so the cost should be 45 pound. I'll give them a ring as it's pretty excessive otherwise.
