Emergency calls only

Upgraded my Iphone to Samsung Galaxy. Put my old sim into new phone and it doesnt work. Unable to make or receive calls, texts or access data. This is now the 2nd day and still nothing. Tried everything but nothing works. Was onto Sky for 40 minutes yesterday, they didnt know what it was!! It wont pick up Sky as network operator. Do you think this might be the reason? Im stumped.........

@caesarome Hi I have checked the status. From my home it says there is a mast down !! But from work it just says it can get busy from time to time, so I would have thought my phone would have connected to Sky.

Then that is your issue as you will be waiting for the mast owner to carry out repairs and this will not be Sky as they do not own these masts. When at work your phone will be conncted to a different mast hence the different message.

@caesarome but I dont get any signal from work either. It still says emergency calls only
