Can i instantly swap to eSIM after checkout

I'm going away to Europe on Tuesday morning (it's Sunday). I'm looking to buy a sim for this trip. can I swap to an eSIM without the physical copy being delivered yet? Is it a case of buy the sim and instantly go to settings in the app and change it?

I don't believe it's possible until the physical sim has been activated. However check on your mobile account under manage sim to see if you have this option as the info on Sky's website seems to suggest it needs to be actuivated but, refers to esim so you may have the option to activate it as an esim, if that makes sense.

If you're referring to a Sky eSim, you'll need to activate the physical SIM before requesting an eSim via MySky.

You can buy an an eSim from an eSim operator that gives preferential rates for roaming and loads that one I'd imagine.
