No: the USB-C port on the v1 and v2 Glass is only for the Sky Live camera.

Glass v2 also has a USB-A,, port for an external Conditional Access Module.

Neither can access external storage. The workaround is to have an external device connected over HDMI which has its own USB port.

There's no such adapter: you need a device which has an operating system that can mount USB storage and read its file format, and then do something with the files themselves such as play back video. Some Blu-ray players can do this.

Note that there's no way to record anything from Glass onto USB even if such a device is attached.

Bloody joke.

DVD Players are old technology. They only output standard definition video, normally through older analogue SCART connectors which have been phased out of all smart TVs manufactured in the past 10 years or so. More modern BluRay and 4K BluRay players connect digitally via HDMI and will playback and upscale DVD's. These can easily be connected to a Sky Glass TV.

Attaching HDDs were never part of Sky's plans for Glass. It's a unique streaming TV, entirely designed for Sky's own SkyOS platform. They want you to stream movies directly either via Sky's own Sky Cinema service or Sky Store. There is no media player software on the TV for playing third party video files.

Many BluRay players do have such software though, and many have USB ports. Why not kill 2 birds with one stone and buy one? It'll allow you to both play your DVDs and movies from your HDDs when connected via HDMI to a Glass (or any other smart) TV.

The Gen 1 was released in October 2021 and discontinued in February 2025: the limitations of its specification and operating system really shouldn't be a surprise by now.

As @Angel_Aka indicates, Glass has always been intended as a custom platform for the consumption of subscription content from Sky and their app partners.
