My itv x app jump to the end of the programme after fast forwarding the adverts. Or sometimes goes back to the beginning after doing thd same. What can be done?

Is anyone else having issues watching programmes on ITVX for the last 3 days programmes I'm watching jumped to the end randomly and are then showing as watched it usually happens at the beginning of the programme or straight after an ad break

Yes, happened to us several times this evening, trying to watch Emmerdale and Corrie.

I don't believe you can fast forward adverts in itvx player hence the issue.

ITV either want you to watch the adverts with a free account or pay for.the ad free account.

Yes, this is happening on Sky Stream making ITVX effectively unusable. I have had sudden jumps to the end, jumps back to the start, and last night's Coronation St jumped to the halfway point as soon as the titles finished. Usually this happens after an ad break, or after pausing playback, but sometimes while watching as well.

Come on somebody from Sky, make ITV get their act together. There is a great Italian show called Petra which I have had to abandon because it keeps restarting the episode and it's an absolute pain to FF to the right spot (as unlike all other apps there is no on screen cue apart from a line and a moving cursor).

ITVX on Sky is an absolute disgrace.

You can fast forward ads on ITV X if you have the ad-skipping add-on as part of your Sky TV streaming subscription.

Yes! Very frustrating. I'm wondering if it's an app problem or a Sky Glass TV problem as I've had nothing but issues since having one!

Not an answer really, but if you don't use ad skip, would it not be better to use the ITVX app on your TV (if you have a Smart TV of course). I tended to use the apps on any device other than the puck itself as they're more reliable.

@MarkGoldsmith I have had itvx premium and the adverts don't even show up never mind allowing you to skip them.

Wasnt aware of the ability to do it with the no ads add on via sky.

The ITVX app isn't particularly good on any platform but I've personally not had any issues with it since I subscribed to ITVX Premium and use it exclusively on an Apple TV 4K box. We only watch on demand and abhor advertising of any kind so this suits us well. I've not had any freezing, skipping or sync issues at all.

The app is one of those memory hungry apps so does seem to benefit to being run from a dedicated streaming device, rather than being on a server and fed down a potentially fluctuating broadband connection to a customer's Glass TV or Stream puck. I always found Sky's ad-skipping to be problematic, despite us having a gigabit symmetrical network connection, so we chose to abandon SkyOS.

There are plenty of customers who have a perfectly functional Sky Stream and Glass service, so they must have perfect broadband and have their service running from a non-busy Sky server. Unfortunately there's no choice in what server your service runs from.

It works out at better value for money than just subscribing to ITV X because it allows you to fast forward ( or skip ads completely for Sky's on-demand content) on ITV X, STV Player and C4 app. (better value for money if you watch via the other apps or Sky's own on-demand content).

Every time I play episode it goes straight to the end . I have to keep restarting it . Anyone else having problems with it?

Noticed a number of you on Sky Stream/Glass having this similar problem yesterday and today.

If any of you are on Sky Q and not on Sky Stream/Glass, please flag that here so Sky are also aware the app is having similar issues there.

I have reported this thread within our Superuser closed forum area.

Have combined some posts/threads into this one.

I will temporarily make this the answered post until any further info or response from Sky.

It's so annoying and needs to be sorted ASAP when it's skipping to end of the program constantly.

Been like this for 3 days now, tried all the usual "fixes" but nothing works. As soon as a program starts on itvx it jusps right to the end and then starts playing something else that we're really not interested in. Have to come out of itvx into something else then go back to itvx to restart the program and then do the same after each set of adverts
