What are the general opinions of Sky customers who have changed to Skyglass? Is it any good. Is it worth going for, and is it as good as Sky Q ?

Perhaps keep in mind that support forums don't have 'general opinions' because by definition the vast majority of users who visit them are trying to resolve an issue..

If 100 people reply you'll get 100 different responses. For sure it is a marmite product. Go into a Sky Store physically check it out, watch YouTube videos but there of course it's opinions.

Personally when the ecosystem works it's very good but gosh it can be buggy at times, so frustrating.

At least Sky offer a 31 day return so you can trial it for a few weeks.

I'm pretty much an early adopter in tech and when the original Glass came out I was in the market for a new TV , I know it's not the best spec on the market and I have another better spec TV with a stream box attached for home cinema. Landscape wise I now have 2 Glass ( Gen 1 and 2 ) and a stream . Before ordering I had noticed I was watching more on catch up / on demand so this seemed a logical next step for me. The early days were a bit frustrating with software issues but have been quite stable for a while. As mentioned before a good internet package is essential along with wifi and/or network cable connection. Bottom line is it's worked for me but if you can get your hands on it in person for a demo then it will be a bonus

An impossible question to answer. There are simply too many variables at play. My general opinion as someone who changed from Q to Glass & Stream (and subsequently got rid of both) - is it any good? For me, no. Is it worth going for? For me, no. Is it as good as Sky Q? For me, no. For many others though, the answer will be yes to all those questions.

One key thing to remember is that with Sky Q it was Sky's responsibility, with engineer support, to make sure that the dish, cabling and Q box was set up correctly in order to receive the service. With Sky Glass and Stream it is you, the customer, who has the responsibility of providing a fast and stable enough broadband connection for the service to function. Glass and Stream are self-install and self-maintained services so if you aren't comfortable with the idea of having to do some network troubleshooting in order to get it to work, then it's perhaps not for you.

The streaming age has opened up so many other options for TV viewers. Sky is no longer a unique means of getting content. You need to do some research to find the service and hardware which delivers the content you want, in the quality you want, at a price you think is worth paying.

I left Virgin Media to join Sky Glass. Worst decision I could have made.

The TV is glitchy, slow, unresponsive at times. The front end is appalling. Voice recognition, forget it. When this was turned on it would often turn itself on. Don't ever use the movement option, it'll turn on when you walk into the rom and if you happen to sit still while wathcing it it'll assume you're not there and turn itself off half way through shows.

The accompanied Sky Go App doesn't work on any of my PC's. Constantly telling me it cannot connect right now. It does work on my phone but I didn't purchase sky to watch TV on a mobile phone.

As soon as my contract is done...I'm gone. Virgin weren't brilliant, but far, far better than Sky.
