From what I can see the hbo max will be free through sky but you will have to have a TNT sports subscription which I don't like the sound of because hbo max offer both for 30.99 a month but then sky offer TNT sports for 31.00 is it even worth it I don't understand why sky can't just offer a subscription for both at half the price or somewhere near hbo max with TNT sports without ads.

You don't have to have a TNT Sports subscription at all with HBO Max.

HBO Activation Isues

Hello All

I'm having issues activating HBO Max this morning.

I go through all the prompts which state it's included as part of my subscription. Then go through the sign up process with a code sent via email. It then states it's activated but then goes to a sign in screen I can't get pass.

I have tried activating it via the my sky app & it's the same issue?

Also tried via the qr code & it's the same issue?

I have tried it on on my pucks & sky glass & it's the same.

Anyone else having sign up issues?

I'm on Q but created the account via the MySky App on the phone first, you can then enter the code online.

I've tried both app and online it just says this is unavailable at the moment and has been for hours

I can't even get that far I go through my sky to do it and I still get the same error message,

I dont know if this has been asked or answered. I activated my HBO Max on Sky Glass using my SKY account credentials, and it worked no problem. If I want to use the app on my phone or tablet do I use these credentials rather the the Discovery plus login credentials, where my TNT sports was. I get TNT Sports through SKY.

I read somewhere that you should use your Discovery plus login details to login to HBO Max, but is that if you dont get it through SKY

@BillClay If you activated with Sky and chose the option to "use your Sky email address", then you need to login to the HBO Max app using the same email address as is linked to your Sky account. When you login on a phone or tablet HBO Max will then prompt you to choose whether you want to setup a password on your account or login using a code they will send to your linked email address.

Using Discovery+ login details only applies to those who signed up to TNT Sports directly through Discovery +, as they have had to migrate those accounts from Discovery + to HBO Max as part of TNT Sports moving apps.

I have tried a different email address & a message comes up stating we couldn't find a Max account for that email address?

I get a message from Sky saying we are unable to do that at the moment when I try click activate subscription

Hbo max launch in the UK has been a complete failure. Sky q box keeps buffering and coding out. Amazon partner says there's an issue. I managed to watch 2 eps of The Pitt via my old now tv pass.

I have tried mobile computer and TV, I get either the email address is not found. or when I go through the Sky app, I click activate, it goes to HBO, then forwards to a black screen with a circling icon, which stops and nothing else happens.

HBO Max upgrade costs

I can't believe it costs an extra £5 per month to upgrade to the standard option via sky when there is only a £1 price difference doing direct with HBO Max ?

Basic via sky £4.99 included, upgrade via sky £5? Saving a massive £1
Standard via HBO £5.99

If I want the ad free version of Netflix via sky it currently costs me £4 (£2 more from April)
Netflix direct £10.99

Why such a difference in savings between HBO and Netflix ?
