I purchased a Sky Glass TV because I wanted a tidy set up without a pile of "spaghetti" behind the TV etc, No aerial cord as well.... Happy days !!..... What I didn't realise was that by removing the aerial cord I was also removing certain FREEVIEW channels !!, REWIND TV, THAT'S TV (multiple channels), TALKING PICTURES.... These channels may not seem like much but they ARE part of the package, they show films & programmes from the 50's, 60' & 70's... Old nostalgic news reels... Why on earth don't SKY make the FREEVIEW app available on SKY GLASS in case people do need it... In the mean time, any ideas on how I could access FREEVIEW without it costing me a fortune !!

The Sky Glass TV does have a free-to-air tuner (important to note that it is not Freevew, which is a brand name) that can be accessed by removing any network connection to the TV and connecting an aerial. You will then gain access to a rudimentary free-to-air tuner of channels received via aerial.

Freeview does not have an app. There is the Freely streamed service, operated by the same company which offers many channels entirely via your broadband. It can be received very cheaply using an external device such as the new Manhattan Aero. You can attach this to a Glass TV via HDMI and enjoy channels such as Talking Pictures amongst others.

It's important to do research when purchasing a streamed TV service. Not all services are available on certain devices.

Presumably because they think that would encourage users not to renew their Sky content subscriptions?

As @Angel_Aka indicates, there are now at least a couple of set top boxes with Freely on them.
