No subtitles on Play.it’s recordings

My wife has severe hearing loss and relies on sub-titles but they disappear if programme is recorded on Playlist. This means that she cannot watch one programme and record another. This must be a problem for other deaf people who need sub-titles and surely Sky should ensure disability access for customers. We were previously with Virgin and recordings maintained the original sub-titles. Is there a way to access sub-titles on recorded programmes?

The subtitles are likely are to be present on most shows, however the mechanism to switch them on/off is different on each app. When you playlist a show, it may not play back from a cloud recording and may instead open the broadcasters app (e.g IPlayer or ITV X) to play the show. Each of these apps have their own subtiting system, so the subtitles need to be turned on in each app.

When you turn the subtitles on via the Sky Settings, that will only persist the subtitles for live TV channels, cloud recordings or shows being played via Sky's own on-demand system.

Every week I watch John and Lisa Cooking programme on Sunday 12pm it's say it has subtitles but there no subtitles displayed. It's very disappointing as I missed out on what the recipes I would like to write down. Why are they no subtitles when it's supposed to have subtitles.? I do know how to put the subtitles up but for this programme they won't come up.😞😡

The current series has finished now.

It is though now available on ITVx.

When playing from there click on the subtitle on/off toggle underline in yellow while pausing the show, as shown in my picture below.

This programme is on every weekend and I do press for the subtitles to come on and it doesn't. Its said there is subtitles and still it doesn't come on when I press the on button 😐

This problem still persists. We know that some programmes on certain channels may not have subtitles or you have to search on the information bar to turn them on but the annoying things is that when they do have subtitles these disappear if you record the programme/ series on Playlist. Surely this is a problem that Sky should sort out as part of its customer service. when you record programmes with other service providers (Inpreviously was with Virgin) the subtitles are automatically recorded. It is also annoying when a programme says it has subtitles but none appear on screen - but that may not be the responsibility of Sky.

@KM15 except for the majority of programmes on sky's streaming platform you aren't recording them and instead adding them to the playlist is just creating a bookmark to whichever streaming app has the rights.
