topic Background Pixilation in Sky Glass

I'm finding that the background tends to pixilate when it is dark. Also, with some programs the picure can be quite faded, even with the picure set to vivid? Is this normal with Glass?

@Peter.Tinker

Depending on the source, it tends to be caused by high levels of compression coupled with a harsh LED backlight on Glass which can show up the compression artefacts more.

If you have a gen1 Glass TV, it's not capable of producing a particularly bright image so can often look a bit dim and faded when showing HDR encoded programmes. The gen2 Glass TV is brighter and is normally better at showing HDR.

Thanks for the reply. It's the Sky Glass Air. I think I'll get on to Sky Support, it's driving me mad.

Glass Air is a budget TV with global backlight dimming, not the local dimming that the gen 2 Glass has. It's never going to be able to produce a perfect image, particularly with highly compressed dark scenes or programmes with HDR.
