Dark circles

So, I'm seeing symmetrical lines of dark circles, approx 1.5 cm across whenever the screen is white or very light/bright.

Any ideas?

What you're seeing is the backlight array through the screen. This would suggest poor manufacturing. The front of the panel has been positioned too close to the backlights, making them visible.

If I were you I'd be calling Sky and asking for a replacement under warranty, assuming you've owned the TV for less than 2 years of course. If you are outside the warranty period then you'll be liable for repair/replacement costs.

So, you're absolutely right, mate, they wouldn't discuss anything with me once they realised the warranty was no longer valid. I don't know how they get away with selling a product without a full guarantee and trying to get them to compromise for their shoddy product got me nowhere.

Sadly the 2 year warranty thing has caught quite a few people out, and it's especially annoying if you're paying the TV off over 4 years.

This is why, when you're spending hundreds of pounds on a TV, I always advocate getting an extended warranty, either by paying extra for Sky Protect if you really want a Glass TV, or buying a smart TV from somewhere like John Lewis or Richer Sounds, where 5 or 6 year warranties come free as standard with most TVs they sell.
