This Sky article below shows you how an aerial connection into the Sky Glass TV works.

The epg is basic, compared to what you would see on a Smart TV, but functional.

You will not be able to add any of the channels programming from this to the Sky Glass Playlist. It is just for viewing only.

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-input-app-on-sky-glass?msockid=19aa5821889b6a16099a4eaf897f6bbf

Probably more satisfactory to add an external Freeview receiver or recorder over HDMI and connect an aerial feed to that.

I have a netgem freeview box but haven't used it for at least 2 years.......

The actual branded Freeview is very useful because it links to third party apps, much like SkyOS, except that with Freeview, it's free.

The EPG on most TVs with built-in Freeview branded tuners will show if a listed programme is available already on demand. If it is, you can select it and it will open iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, 5, etc. and play it.

It's the same on the Freeview app. You can browse the EPG, click on a programme that's available on demand and it'll open the appropriate app to stream it (if you have the app installed obvs). It's very handy.

The upcoming Netgem Freely puck (currently known as the Pleio) will provide the same sort of integration with third party apps as well as ditching the aerial and streaming live channels from all the main free-to-air channels, much like Sky's Essential TV package.
